Happy Thanksgiving + Black Friday Sales

Hello Loves!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day spending time with family and friends. My husband and I have two dinners to attend this year and I know I will be in a sweet potato casserole coma in a few hours. Before the hubs and I head out to be with our families, I wanted to share today’s outfit as well as some of the Black Friday Sales I think are worth looking into.

This year I am thankful for my friends and family, my amazing hardworking husband, my health, the roof over my head, the food in my belly and the amazing opportunities CHEAP GIRL CHIC has given me so far. I have met so many wonderful people and I am thankful for that today and every other day. CHEAP GIRL CHIC will be transition over to a new name and an updated website within the next few weeks. I’m so excited for these upcoming changes.

Moving on to the outfit, I knew I needed a comfortable outfit because we will be out all day. I took my makeup inspiration from my sweet friend Candace’s Holiday Makeup blog post.

Top: Target //Jeans: Target //Wedges: Target // Necklace: Walmart // Handbag: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx//

I just realized I’m basically Target from head to toe. Speaking of toes, these wedge booties are so incredibly comfortable! I found my sweater on clearance at Target a few weeks ago and of course I am wearing my favorite Mid Rise Denim Jeggings!

My sweet potato casserole that is so incredibly good you will want to eat the whole pan! You can find the recipe here.

I also wanted to include the best, in my opinion, Black Friday sales that I would recommend checking out. You know I am all about a good sale!

Old Navy is offering 50% the entire store! I recommend checking out their sweaters, cardigans and active wear.

Target has 40% men and women’s apparel. My recommendations for Target are Mid Rise Denim Jeggings (the best!) and their basic t-shirts and tanks are awesome layering pieces.

$19.99 boots?! Yes, PLEASE! I recommend checking out the two-toned boots! Gorgeous!

I found this one on my Instagram! I love Bealls! They have great prices and with BOGO 50% off that makes it even better. I recommend checking out their outerwear. I found my favorite utility jacket for $12.99!

VIA 74

My friends at Via74 are having 30% off plus free shipping! Y’all, they have an adorable sweater with owl elbow patches! You may or may not know my college mascot was an owl so I need all things owl! You can find that here! This sale last from 11/27-11/29!

Thank you so much for reading! Let me know if you have fun Black Friday plans!

Christmas Wishlist 2015 + Gift Ideas for Her.

Hello loves!

It’s that time of year again! Can you believe it?! Black Friday will be here at the end of the week so that means that  Christmas is right around the corner and we are all busy decorating, shopping and eating! I absolutely LOVE buying other people Christmas gifts. It makes me so happy seeing the joy that giving brings to other people.

A few days ago, my husband asked me what I wanted for a gift. That is one of the hardest questions to answer! If you are anything like me, you buy the things you want for yourself. He told me to make a list of a few different items and include a link so he knows that he is getting the right one if he decided to buy it.

Of course, when he said to include the link to the items, the first thing I thought was “I should do a blog post and he can look at that!” So that is exactly what I have done. I included inexpensive items and a few things that I usually wouldn’t splurge on if I was buying it for myself.

I hope this can give you some ideas of thing to ask for or things you may want to get one of the ladies in your life.

As a little disclaimer, I know very well that gifts are not the true meaning behind Christmas, but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t a big part of the holiday in my family.

Monogrammed Downtown Tassel Purse

I just LOVE this monogrammed bag from Marley Lilly! It is the perfect personalized gift to give any lucky lady in your life. This color is my favorite and will go with anything and everything in anyone’s wardrobe.

The Trendy Sparrow

Next, I have included a store. The Trendy Sparrow on Etsy is on of my favorites! I have the “Bloggers Gonna Blog” t-shirt and I wear it all the time! She sells a variety of differnt things! T-shirts, coffee mugs, sweaters, printables and journals. I had to include of few of my favorite items from her store!

Queen B Mug

I am in LOVE with this mug! Anything with Queen B on it has to be mine! The perks of having the initials BB.

Building My Empire Journal

I am a sucker for cute journals! I love how nice they look on a desk and they makes a perfect gift for someone who loves to write or make lists.

Sterling Silver Name Necklace Infinity Pendant

I just love personalized gifts! I have a few items from mynamenecklace.com and I love this piece as well. It would be prefect for a new mom or any mom as well as newly married couples in your life! You can personalize these with one or two names!

Reversible Faux Leather Tote & Wristlet

This tote has been on my list for a long time! I love that it is reversible and the navy/taupe colors are something that I don’t have in my wardrobe. Giving this gift to someone else is like giving them two gifts!

I will let you that Walmart has a cheaper option of you are looking for other colors. They don’t offer a navy so that is why I included this one. You can find the Walmart tote here.

Inspired Hearts Classic Pea Coat

I absolutely love this coat from Belk! I have the black one and it is wonderful! The color of this one is so much fun and not something I would normally buy myself. It is always nice to have a fun colored coat in your wardrobe. A red one would be wonderful for the holidays as well!

And this baby is on sale for $28.99!

Oversized Wrap Poncho

I think this poncho is so cute and it’s from Walmart! Prefect for the cold weather. I have been really impressed with Walmart lately, especially online!

Kate Spade Pencil it in 12-month agenda

I just love how chic this planner looks! I normally wouldn’t spend $40 on a planner but this one is so unique! Target and Walmart also have very cute, affordable planners that would make the prefect gift for the lady in your life who likes to stay organized.

Hunter Boots

Can you believe I don’t own a pair of rain boots?! These Hunter boots are so cute and look awesome paired with boot socks! I have wanted a pair for years but I just can’t bring myself to buy them.

If the price point on these is a little steep, I have included some cheaper options below.

Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Champagne Glow Palette

This palette is absolutely gorgeous and it feature’s Champagne Pop which I have wanted since it was released! This is a limited addition product and would be perfect for the makeup lover!

Sephora, Ulta, even Walmart and Target always offer great cosmetic kits that include brushes, skin care, hair care and nail polish.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

This was my first high end fragrance when I was a teenager. I haven’t had it in a few years and a coworker was wearing it and I knew I had to have back in my collection again! A perfume is a great gift to give, if you know what fragrance a person wears.

Sephora offers a sample fragrance set that also included a voucher for the person to pick a full size bottle of their favorite scent from the kit. You can find that here.

A Few Extra Gift Ideas:

  • Subscription Services are a great way to keep giving all year long. There are all types of services from jewelry to cosmetics, food to ice cream, even snacks and wine!
  • If you need an idea for your significant other, you can always make a folder with preplanned date nights for the year. Include gift cards to the restaurants you will be eating at, maybe some gift cards so she can buy a new outfit for those special nights.
  • A DIY gift can be one of the best things to give. For my Grandma’s birthday this year, I made her a wall sign with all of her family’s birthdays and special date and she loved it! PInterst is the place to go when it comes to finding unique, DIY gifts! IMG_1897

Ignore my “I Just Left the Gym Hair.”

Thank you so much for stopping by! Let me know what’s on your Christmas wishlist and I hope this gave you some ideas for things to get the special ladies in your life!

Be on the look out for a Stocking Stuffer post coming very soon!

November Ipsy Glam Bag.

Hello Loves!

It’s my favorite time of the month again! Ipsy Glam Bag time!!

This month’s bag is the best one I have had in the past few months. I love all of the products I received. They have all been added to my daily routine!

The bag is gorgeous! The colors of the galaxy print are amazing and this one is definitely one that I will use as an everyday cosmetics bag.

I love primers. I never leave the house without one! This one from Avance+ surprised me. It is very different from any primer I have ever used. I am used to primers that have a silicone feel to them. This one is almost like a moisturizer. It has a nice fresh smell and lives your skin very smooth feeling. It does keep the shine down throughout the day and my foundation looks great layered over it.

When I saw my preview of my Glam Bag, I had no idea what to expect from this product. It is a very liquidy highlighter. A little bit goes a long way with this product. It leaves a beautiful golden sheen to the skin and looks very natural when blended out.

If we are being honest, I suck at liquid liner. Like bad. But with this one, it is really easy to get a nice thin line for everyday wear. The formula is very black and long lasting. I don’t notice any smudging or fading throughout the day. Nice for someone who is a newbie to liquid liner like myself. I notice that I have reached for this over my pencil liner a few times and that means a lot coming from me.
Smashbox is a brand that I have only tried a few products from but I have loved everything that I have tried so far. This mascara is no different. It does amazing things for my lashes. It is very black, volumizing and lengthening. It is kinda hard to work with just because it is a sample size so you don’t have much room to move around because the wand is so short. That being said, it is still a great product.
This Crown pointed crease brush is amazing! It is a perfect brush to blend out your crease color and it is so soft. A+++ from me!

Got a quick selfie wearing all the products. I love the way the highlighter looks on the skin!

Weekend Wear 11.15.2015 + First Birthday Party!

Hello Loves! Happy Sunday!

Today I was lucky enough to host my niece Aubri’s 1st birthday party! I loved being able to have all of the family over to celebrate! She is the cutest, bestest, sweetest baby in the whole world ( I maybe a little biased).

I knew I need a causal and comfy outfit to entertain. This sweater has been my go-to since I bought it a few weeks again. I absolutely love the color and fit. It is perfect to wear with thick legging and the leopard flats are my favorite!

Sweater: Bealls // Leggings:Target // Flats: Old Navy // Bag:// Necklace: Rue 21// Watch: Michael Kors via TJ Maxx //

These are some of my favorite pictures from her party!

The “chalkboard” was a DIY project that I worked on for a few days last week.

We did a very simple pink and purple theme for her party and she had a blast! All  of our party supplies came from Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby!

Make sure you check out my Instgram, I am co-hosting a giveaway with Whitley aka The Whipstitch Wife!

Tips and Tricks for Shopping at Target.

Hello Loves!

I am starting a new series that I am going to call “Tips and Tricks for Shopping at…”

I will share my biggest tips and tricks for shopping at some of my favorite stores. This will include how I find the best deals, discounts I receive and coupons I use while shopping. Today I am featuring my absolute favorite store, Target.

  • Sign up to receive emails. This may sound like a no-brainer, but that is always how I know what will be on sale and when. They send out weekly ads with all of the sales that will be offered online and in stores. Did you know that Target does BOGO half off and 25% off apparel, shoes and accessories? I always wait for one of those sales to buy clothing items and shoes.

  • Download the Target cartwheel app! This app allows you to see coupons and discounts that Target is offering that week. You can even scan a barcode to see if there are any discounts that can be applied to you item. I never buy something at Target without checking to see if there is a coupon or discount on the cartwheel app. Also, discounts can be applied to clearance items! The more you use your app, the more badges you unlock and that leads to more savings!

  • Get the Target Red Card. I didn’t get one until recently and I am glad that I did. It is not a credit card, it is basically linked to your checking account so it is used like a debit card. Using this card saves you 5% on all of your purchases and you get free shipping if ordering online. You also get an extra 30 days to return items if purchased using your Red Card.
  • Shop the clearances section and The Dollar Spot. I can almost always find something on clearance at Target. The women’s clothing is priced 30%, 50% and 70% off. For home good and cosmetics/skin care, always check the end caps, that I where the majority of the clearance items are placed. As for The Dollar Spot, a trip to Target is never complete with out checking it out. I find tons of cute, seasonal décor as well as stationary and small gifts for $1-$3!Below are some of my favorite recent purchases from the Target Clearance section and The Dollar Spot!

Thank you so much for reading. I hope this helps you out on your next shopping trip to Target!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas 2015

Hello Loves!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! I love spending time with my family and of course, eating. I have put together 4 great outfit ideas that should cover every type of Thanksgiving party/meal you would be attending.

First I have two more casual outfits, something like this is more than likely what I will wear for Turkey Day. I am loving fur vests! I can’t get enough!

Shirt: H&M // Vest: Belk // Jeans: Target // Boots: Ross//  Boot Socks: TJ Maxx//

The sweater is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I get complements every time I wear it.

Sweater: Belk // Necklace: EBay // Jeggings: Target // Boots: Charlotte Russe //

Next, I have a more put together, dressy option if you like to get a little dressed up for the holiday.

Skirt: Kohl’s // Booties: Belk // Jacket: Belk // Tight: TJ Maxx //

Finally, my personal favorite, is the laid back, relaxed option that allows you to eat all the sweet potato casserole your little belly could hold.

Sweater: TJ Maxx// Shirt: Target // Leggings: Old Navy // Boots: Belk // Boot Socks: Bag: Walmart //

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! This year I am thankful for my healthy, my family and friends and all of the wonderful people I have met and the amazing opportunities I have been given since starting this blog!

P.S. Did anyone else notice Teddi (my dog) creeping through the window?!
