Hello Friends!
I am super excited about this post and some futures posts because they are all DIY decor for my baby girl’s room!
This post is going to show you how I made this adorable fabric banner! It is so simple but makes a great addition to any room! I am thinking of making another one to go above our bed!
For a medium sized banner like mine, you will need:
4-5 half yards of fabric
scissors
ribbon/lace
3 yards jute cord/ twine
All of my supplies were purchased at Hobby Lobby and Walmart.
First, you want to fold your fabric in half. I folded mine horizontally so I had long strips of fabric.
Make small cuts every 1/2 inch or so on your fabric and rip down to the bottom. This does not make perfect strips and there will be strings. If you want a more clean look, cut all the way down for each strip.
To add your fabric to the twine, the first thing you want to do is fold one strip in half creating a loop in the middle.
Lay the jute/twine over the loop and then pull the two ends of fabric through the loop. Pull until the knot around the twin is tight.
Knotting your fabric this way ensures that the front of the fabric is what you see when your banner is hanging.
After about an hour worth of work here it is! I am so in love with how it looks and its a perfect addition to Lily’s room!
Her changing table is still a work in progress. I m hoping to find some more baskets and the perfect pad cover.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed!
XOXO

Super cute! I love the colors/patterns you chose. 😀
I’m going to be making one of these to go over my new little one’s crib as well, but I ended up running out of time before she arrived (oops!) even though I already had the fabric and rope/twine purchased!
